Responsibilities

Investigating cybersecurity crime and incidents.

Finding and following data trails to link suspects to other dangerous parties.
Recovering hidden, encrypted, or deleted information.
Offering security insight to law enforcement personnel and prosecutors regarding their digital evidence.

Helping to prepare evidence before criminal trials.
Creating reports of their findings and presenting them when necessary.

Tools & Environment

Digital Forensics need to use advanced digital storage tools, operating systems, programming, and hacking techniques. They also need to handle retrieved and recovered data, with a detailed understanding of the latest malware and the legal aspects of criminal investigations.
